Jayhawk Athletes Show Off Artistic Skills

Two of our student-athletes are featured in our JCC juried student art and design exhibition.  Out of 208 student submissions, 84 pieces were selected for the exhibit and two of our student-athletes, Rachel Moller and Mike Bush, are featured.  Mike's piece is an acrylic painting called "Ride Your Own Wave" and Rachel's piece is a paper design called "Falling Dreams."  The exhibit is open until May 11; stop over to the JCC Art Gallery when you can to support Rachel and Mike.

Rachel Moller is a sophomore on the Jayhawk swimming and diving team for Jamestown Community College. She is a Studio Arts major and plans to continue her studies at a four-year university after graduation. Eventually her goal is to find a job as an art teacher. Moller was on the swimming and rowing teams in high school at Frewsburg, where she served as team captain.

Michael Bush is a sophomore for the Men's Basketball team at JCC from Martin Luther King Jr. high school. He wanted to play basketball for the Jayhawks because he really liked the coaching staff and when Cordovano was still At JCC he really pushed Mike into coming to play here. He also heard good things about the education that students have received here. Mike's main goals for the season are making his teammates better all around players and also wanting to win. He said "I just want to win and make it to the Regional Championships and win that." He is a very dedicated player to the game that he loves to play.
