GROTON, Conn. — UConn-Avery Point outscored Jamestown Community College, 66-38, in the middle two quarters en route to a 112-81 NJCAA women's basketball victory Sunday afternoon.

Mia Brennan came off the bench to lead the Pointers with 27 points to go along with eight steals, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Edona Thaqi added 20 points, six assists, four rebounds and three steals; Meagan Bianchi had 19 points and nine assists; Tatyana LaFrance-Boyce chipped in 13 points and three assists; Egypt Santos added 12 points, nine rebounds and five blocks; and Johnay Burns had 10 points off the bench.

Emilee Sperry (Panama/Panama) led the Jayhawks with 23 points while Alexis Rodenbaugh added 15 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Nicole Johnson and Lakin Gustafson each had 11 points and six rebounds while Haley Hettenbaugh added 5 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists.

UConn-Avery Point (3-1, 2-0) is a Division III program playing in Region 21.

Jamestown CC returns to Region 3 Division II action Wednesday at Erie CC.
