ROCHESTER–Jamestown Community College improved to 17-0 on the year, 14-0 in NJCAA Division III Region 3, and 4-0 in Western New York Athletic Conference play with a 25-7, 25-23, 25-20 win over Monroe Community College (14-7) on Tuesday.

Sierra Wells had a big day of setting with 33 assists, while adding three aces, two kills and 10 digs; Jenna Caskey added 13 kills, 18 digs and one block, while Kendyl Austin added eight kills and 13 digs.

Also for the Jayhawks Kaylin Brumagin had nine kills, two digs and one block and Cameryn Hawkins chipped in eight digs.

"We played pretty clean and outstanding that first set," said Jayhawks head coach Ashley Lund. "Monroe had a couple good swings at us, but we played really well that first set. Things kind of went a little down hill in the second two, but if we play like (we did in the first) constantly we could be pretty unstoppable.'

For her part, Wells had a particularly strong game.

"Sierra, her serving made a huge difference," said Lund. "The digs she makes as a setter most teams don't expect her to make. She totally changes what happens on our side."

The Jayhawks will have a break until hosting Mercyhurst North East next Thursday at 6 p.m.
