JAMESTOWN, NY - Jamestown Community College (JCC) hockey is set to host its 2025 hockey prospect skate for prospective student-athletes looking to take the ice for JCC. The event will take place on Saturday, May 3rd, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Norwest Arena, home of the JCC Jayhawks hockey team.
Athletes attending the skate may begin checking in at 12:30 PM. Those skating will compete in a full-length scrimmage, with three 20-minute periods, including an ice cut after each period. Two AAU-certified referees will officiate the scrimmage. AAU rules will be enforced during the scrimmage. There is a $25 cover fee that must be paid on or before the day of tryouts. Cash, checks, or Venmo will be accepted for payment.
There is no upper age limit to participate. Players under 16 cannot participate. Any player under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver form. All players must be equipped with a full face shield or cage during the skate, regardless of age. Half shields or no face mask will be permitted. This aligns with AAU College Hockey rules. A jersey will be provided to players upon check-in. Jerseys are to be returned to the team following the skate.
