JAMESTOWN, NY - It only took two seasons for your Jamestown Community College (JCC) club hockey team to go from spunky start-up to league champs.
JCC captured the UNYCHL Division 3 championship in their home barn over the weekend with a pair of dominating performances.
The Jayhawks topped Gannon University in the semi-finals on Saturday, with a 7-3 victory.
They turned around on Sunday and did even better, knocking off Canisius University 7-2 in front of a packed Northwest Arena in downtown Jamestown.
The star of the event was goalie James-Anthony Roch, who stopped 60 of 65 shots faced to earn tournament MVP.
JCC closed the season on a hot streak, winning seven of their last eight games to go on the championship run and close their second season as a program with a banner to hang in the rafters.
