Jayhawks' Gamers Open Season With Tough Test in New Platform

OLEAN, NY - Jamestown Community College (JCC) gamers opened the 2025-26 eSports season utilizing a new platform (PlayVS): PlayVS - We Power Scholastic School Esports, where NJCAAe will be hosting its leagues this year.

The Jayhawks opened the new year with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe being their primary focus.

Luthaya and Phoenix Beard acted as Coach DiBlasi's guinea pigs straight out of the chute with tough and experienced opponents.

Luthaya dropped their best-of-seven match with the Hudson Valley Community College Vikings by a score of 4 races to 0. 

Phoenix also found themselves starting the season with an 0-1 record following a defeat at the hands of the Finger Lakes Community College Lakers, also by a score of 4 races to 0.
