Jayhawks Hold 11th After Day Three of Golf Nationals; Rodgers Rises to 18th for Women

CHAUTAUQUA, NY - It was another pristine day for golf at Chautauqua Golf Club with round three of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Men's and Women's Golf National Championships hosted by Jamestown Community College (JCC) taking place on Thursday.

Starting with the ladies, Jamestown's Cadence Rodgers fought her way into the top 18 through 54 holes with a 98, her best round of the tournament. The ladies' leaderboard now features Rock Valley's Amelia Dunseth at the top after shooting a one-under 71. The team leader is currently the College of DuPage, which has a four-player total of +201.

On the men's side, JCC remains in 11th overall with a team score of 139-over par, plus 46 for the day. The Jayhawks' top scorer on day three was freshman Reid Olsen, who carded a 77 for a +27 for the event. JCC's top overall competitor remains Kyler Wojtowicz, who scored an 82 for a +23 on the par 72 course, which moved him to 33rd overall. After the duo of first-year players are Cole Johnson (86 +44), Jaxson Faulk (89 +53), and Zach Johnson (90 +57). Sandhills Community College, the defending team national champion, remains in first with a three-day score of four-over par.  Individually, Sebastian Haug of Sanhills jumped to the top with a three under through three rounds of action. 

The fourth and final round gets under way on Friday with the women taking honors at the Chautauqua Golf Club at 8:00 AM.
