Jayhawks Back In Action

JAMESTOWN – After a 10-day layoff, the Jamestown Community College women's basketball team will be back in action tomorrow night as they face Region 3 foe Niagara County Community College.

 

The Jayhawks (1-3) will look to rebound after their most recent game, falling to Bryant & Stratton Rochester 106-81 last Tuesday evening. JCC was led by Nadara Odell (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) with her third double–double of the season, scoring 17 points while adding 10 rebounds (7offense, 3 defense). Hannah Hicks (Cleveland, OH/Cleveland Heights), reigning NJCAA Region 3 Player of the Week, recorded her second double-double of the year, scoring 10 points and grabbing a career-high 22 boards (8 offense, 14 defense).

 

Jessica Beehler (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) and Marisa Schuppenhauer (Jamestown, NY/Maple Grove HS) added 12 and 11 points, respectively. Amari Carter (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) continues to be consistent on the glass, grabbing seven rebounds (0 offense, 7 defense).

 

On the year, the Jayhawks are averaging 82.5 points per game while making 31.5 percent of their shots. Odell leads the way with 23.5 points per game with Beehler and Nance adding 12.3 points per outing.

 

On the boards, JCC is averaging 58.3 rebounds per game with Hicks leading the way with 17.5 rebounds per contest. Odell is second on the team with 9.5 board per game with Carter adding seven rebounds an outing.

 

The Thunderwolves (1-2) are coming off an 87-75 loss to Bryant & Stratton Rochester this past Wednesday. Gabrielle McDuffle led the way with 23 points with Kiya Marquez adding 14 points. Alania Forbes chipped in with 12 points. McDuffle also showed her strength on the glass, grabbing 16 rebounds (9 offense, 7 defense).

 

On the year, NCCC is averaging 87 points per game while shooting 42.4 percent from the floor. McDuffle leads the way with 20.3 points per game while Forbes is second on theteam with 17 points per contest.

 

On the glass, NCCC is averaging 48.7 rebounds per contest. McDuffle leads the team with 13 rebounds per game.

 

Tip is set for 5:30 p.m. tomorrow evening.
