JCC Ladies Suffer First Setback of the Season

JAMESTOWN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) women's basketball team felt defeat for the first time in 2025-26 with a 71-61 home loss to four-year school Bryant and Stratton of Buffalo.

Jamestown struggled from the jump, falling behind 15-6 in the first before Ashlynn Delcamp hit a jumper to stop the bleeding. The sophomore had a team-high 15. JCC would trail 18-9 at the first break.

Bryant and Stratton stayed hot to open the second quarter, opening up a 24-9 advantage, with Chelsea Johnson doing most of the game; she finished with a game-high 28.

The Jayhawks would start to chip away from there. Jamestown drew to within six at 32-26 on another bucket from Dalcamp.

A pair of free throws from Tru Billie, who scored 13 points, cut JCC's deficit to just three at the halftime break.

The third quarter would be close throughout. Another bucket from Delcamp had the JCC crown on its feet with the home team trailing by just a point, but the Bobcats would close the quarter up 51-44.

The fourth and final frame was a virtual stalemate, as Jamestown couldn't close the gap before falling by 10.

JCC's first loss of the year moves them to 4-1 on the season.

The Jayhawks visit Lorain County Community College on Thursday before returning home to host Corning Community College on Friday at 7:00 PM.
