Jayhawks Take Down #8 FMCC; Slip Up at Onondaga

CENTRAL NEW YORK, - It was an up-and-down weekend for the Jamestown Community College (JCC) women's basketball team as they traveled to Central New York for a pair of road games. The ladies started the weekend with a 70-64 win at #8 Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Saturday but took a step back in a 61-47 loss to Onondaga Community College on Sunday.

It was a pair of freshmen leading the way on Saturday, with Lailah McGary and Tru Billie both scoring a team-high 16 points. Sophomore Kendra Altadonna did the damage on the glass with a team-high eight rebounds. Ashlynn Delcamp also filled up the stat sheet as she scored 14 with six rebounds.

The win moved JCC to 8-3 on the season.

Unfortunately, that turned to 8-4 with the 14-point loss less than 24 hours later.

Billie was the top scorer for JCC with 13; Mila Espinoza was the only other Jayhawk to hit double figures, as she scored 10.

The ladies now head into Christmas break with a few weeks off before they return to game action when they host Sheridan College on Sunday, January 4th, at 1:00 PM.
