Pair of Tough Losses for JCC as Ladies Drop Two Games by Eight Points Total

WATERTOWN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) women's basketball team traveled east for a pair of games over the weekend, visiting Jefferson Community College and Herkimer College on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The journey to Jefferson started the heartbreak, falling 77-70 despite leading after the first and being tied at half and after three quarters. Jamestown was led by three players reaching double digits: Mila Espinoza (27), Jani Washington (19), and Lailah McGary (11).

JCC cleaned up the glass with Kendra Altondonna pulling down nine rebounds, while Espinoza added seven, and both Ashlynn Delcamp and Felicity Theim had five.

The loss moved the Jayhawks to 9-5 on the season.

The heartbreak only got worse from there for Jamestown, losing at Herkimer College on Sunday by just one point, 76-75. Just like at Jefferson, JCC had a lead into the fourth quarter but couldn't close the deal.

Jamestown saw five Jayhawks hit double-figure scoring: Jaemie Jensen (16), Espinoza (14), Delcamp (12), Samantha Probst (11) off the bench, and Washington (10).

They once again shined on the glass; Delcamp's 12 rebounds led the way, with Jensen pulling down ten, McGary nine, and both Espinoza and Probst grabbing eight.

The one-point defeat puts Jamestown at 9-6 on the year.

JCC is back home on Wednesday when they host Garrett College at 2:00 PM.
