Jayhawks Fall Behind Early, Can't Fight Out of Deficit at CCBC

MONACA, PA - It felt like the Jamestown Community College (JCC) women's basketball team was always just a couple of possessions away from making a comeback against Community College of Beaver County, but the ladies couldn't get over the hump in their 96-86 loss Wednesday night.

JCC fell behind early, trailing 28-19 after the first quarter, then 55-44 at the half. The Jayhawks would win the second and fourth quarters, but it wasn't enough to trip deep enough into the 11-point defeat.

The Jayhawks spread the scoring around, with five players hitting double figures, led by 19 from Lailah McGary and 18 each from Jani Washington and Mila Espinoza.

JCC's loss pushes them to 13-10 on the season and wraps up the regular season for the ladies.

Jamestown now sets its sights on the regional championship tournament, which will be held by SUNY Niagara starting at the end of February.
