SYRACUSE, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) baseball team continues to come up just short in close games as they drop a pair to Onondaga Community College, with 7-6 and 5-3 final scores.
In game one, Jamestown fell behind early 3-0 before rallying in the 3rd to make it a 3-2 game. It was a 5-2 deficit heading to the 6th before the Jayhawks scored a trio of runs to even the game up at 5-5. JCC trailed 6-5 going to the top of the 7th, where they pushed a run across to even the game at 6-6, before allowing a run in the bottom of the 7th to fall 7-6. Their fourth one-run loss of the season.
Game two went about the same, with the Jayhawks grabbing an early 2-0 lead in the 1st before allowing three to the Lazers in the bottom half of the inning. JCC tied the game at 3-3 in the 3rd, and that score held until the 5th. In the 5th, Onondaga plated a pair of runs for a 5-3 lead, which was ultimately the final score of the game.
The pair of losses knocks JCC down to 8-19 on the year.
Jamestown looks to snap the skid on Sunday when they host Corning Community College at noon.
