DRYDEN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) baseball team continues its hot streak as they extend their winning streak to eight games with a doubleheader sweep of Tompkins Cortland Community College (TCCC) on Tuesday afternoon.

Jamestown played cardic kids in game one, rallying in the 7th inning for the 6-5 win. The game started out positively for the Jayhawks, with Santino Musone driving in the first run on a sacrifice fly to make it 1-0 JCC. TCCC scored a pair in the bottom half for a 2-1 game going to the 3rd. In the 4th, Musone tied the game up when he hit into a fielder's choice that allowed Anthony Tolentino to score for a 2-2 contest. Jamestown fell into a 5-2 deficit going into the 5th, but that is when they locked down on defense and found their stride on offense. JCC drove in a run on an Anger Perez sacrifice fly to make it 5-3. The Jayhawks cut it to 5-4 in the 6th on another sacrifice, this time from Tolentino. After a fielding error from TCCC in the 7th, the game was tied up at 5-5 with Bryce Bedrosian coming to the plate, and the freshman didn't disappoint, driving in the game-winning run with a single to center. On the mound, Finn Ricketts was able to close the door in the 7th for the one-run JCC victory.

Game two started out nicely for the road Jayhawks, as Angel Perez drove in the game's first run, scoring Tolentino from third base for a 1-0 lead. A couple of miscues from TCCC later in the inning helped Jamestown build a 3-0 edge. In the bottom half, TCCC knocked in five runs to capture a 5-3 lead after the 1st inning. The Jayhawks bounced back in a big way in the top of the 2nd. It was started on a three-run home run from Santino Musone to give JCC a quick 6-5 command. Later in the inning, Bedrosian would drive in another, followed by an RBI from Luke Larson for a 9-5 JCC lead. TCCC evened the game at 9-9 after three innings, but the Jayhawks continued to battle at the plate. Bedrosian and Mannuel Rosario each drove in a run in the 4th to reclaim the JCC scoreboard at 11-9. Jamestown would punch in two more runs in the 5th, this time from Seth Ranieri and Bedrosian, to go up 13-9 after five innings. Bedrosian would stay hot in the 7th; his single to left plated another for JCC to make it 14-9. Julian Roman finished the final five innings to secure the 14-10 JCC victory.

The latest in JCC's eight-game winning streak moves Jamestown to 16-19 on the season and 10-12 in region play.

Jamestown is back on the road Saturday, May 2nd, at 12:00 PM, when they visit Genesee Community College.
