CORNING — After two wins to start its NJCAA season, the Jamestown Community College men's basketball team fell to Corning CC in the Crossover Classic on Sunday afternoon.

Isaiah Jennings scored 22 points, RaeQuan Scott added 20, and Tamar Jackson and Christian Simmons added 10 apiece for the Red Barons, who were coming off a victory over Genesee CC 24 hours earlier.

Germaine Wright paced the Jayhawks (2-1) with 13 points and Kenny Pitt added 11, but Coach George Sisson's squad had difficulty establishing consistent offensive continuity.

"I'm just disappointed that we couldn't come up with a more consistent attack versus the zone," he said. "We took a lot of early shots from deep."

The quick shots led to easy buckets for Corning CC at the other end.

The Jayhawks trailed by 12 points at halftime, 39-27, and stayed within striking early in the second half, but during a four-minute span, the Red Barons increased the margin to 21 and weren't threatened after that.

Jamestown CC returns to action Wednesday when it entertains Mercyhurst North East in the NJCAA Region 3 Division II opener at the Physical Education Complex. Opening tip is 7:30 p.m.

"We're going to have to get it fixed pretty quick," Sisson said.
