Jayhawks Defeat #10 Howard CC; Split Weekend Tournament at Monroe CC

ROCHESTER, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's basketball team secured a signature win on Saturday, knocking off nationally ranked Howard Community College 83-78 in the Murph Shapiro Classic hosted by Monroe Community College.

Jamestown was led by freshman Jodan Wright, who poured in a career-high 26 points and 10 rebounds against the 10th-ranked Dragons.

Joining Wright in double-digit scoring were sophomores Marcus Wynter with 15 and Federico Foddai with 13; freshman Justin Suarez added 14 in the victory.

The Jayhawks continued their torrid pace at the free throw line, hitting 16 of 20; through four games, they are shooting over 83% from the charity stripe.

JCC's celebration was short-lived as they suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday, 75-68 to Cecil College.

A trio of Jayhawks hit double figures, led by freshman Gabriel Collins, who dropped a career-high and game-high 23. Foddai, 13, and Wright, 10, were the only others to score 10 or more.

Jamestown was once again lights out from the line, knocking down 16 of 17, but 16 turnovers were the dagger for JCC.

The weekend split has Jamestown's record currently at 3-1 early in the 2025-26 campaign.

JCC is back home on Friday when they host Corning Community College on Friday, November 14th, at 5:00 PM.
