Jayhawks Hit Triple-Digits in Win Over Corning CC

JAMESTOWN, NY - Just about everything that could go right went right for the Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's basketball team in their 100-74 victory over Corning Community College on Friday night.

After falling behind 5-0 early, JCC turned it on, taking their first lead at 7-5 on a Jodan Wright three from the wing; the freshman led JCC in scoring with 24.

Jamestown's lead quickly grew to nine with a pair of points from Naeem Richardson, who posted 23 off the bench. JCC was quickly doubling up the Barons 18-9 halfway through the first.

The lead hit double-digits for the first time on a putback from Gabiel Collins for two of his 19 on the night. JCC would take a 21-point lead to the break.

In the second half, the sharp-shooting sophomores started to shine, as Federico Foddai and Marcus Wynter knocked down three triples, and the lead swelled to 62-34. The duo scored 16 and 14, respectively.

JCC head coach Xavier Churnac cleared the benches late, but not before Pietro Magni sank a three to make it an even 100 for the home team.

The win moves the Jayhawks to 4-1 on the early part of the season and 1-0 in Region 3 action.

Next up for Jamestown is a road date at Westmoreland County Community College on Saturday, November 15th, at 12:00 PM. They return home on Wednesday, November 19th, at 6:00 PM to host Villa Maria out of Buffalo.
