Jayhawks Top Villa Maria, Enter Winter Break on Three-Game Winning Streak

JAMESTOWN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's basketball team sent a full house crowd on to winter break with a smile as they topped four-year school Villa Maria 99-73 on Wednesday evening.

JCC broke this one open early, jumping out to a 23-21 lead off of a layup from Gabriel Collins, who finished with nine points and nine rebounds.

Villa got the game back within six a few minutes later before Federico Foddai and Jodan Wright hit back-to-back threes to stretch the lead to 50-33 at the break. Foddai scored 17 on the night, and Wright led all scorers with 26.

The Jamestown advantage swelled to over 20 right out of the half, with Wright knocking down another pair of buckets to see the score become 56-35.

JCC had it in cruise control for the majority of the second stanza as the crowd started to grow restless before one substitution changed it all.

Jack Lundberg, a Jamestown native, entered the game at the 5:21 mark, and he came in looking to shoot.

The Jayhawk faithful exploded when the guard buried an open three, and he was just starting. He'd quickly hit a floater before capping the improbable few minutes with another three en route to eight points in his best game in the green and gold.

Jamestown's 26-point win was their third in a row and moved them to 8-4 on the season.

JCC now has a few weeks off before they visit Jefferson Community College on Saturday, January 10th, at 4:00 PM.
