JCC Splits Busy Road Weekend with Win at Jefferson, Heartbreak at Herkimer

WATERTOWN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's basketball team made an eastern New York swing over the weekend, visiting Jefferson Community College and Herkimer College on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The trip to Jefferson went well for the Jayhawks, winning convincingly 89-67. Jamestown was led by five players reaching double digits: Federico Foddai (20), Keyvone Craig (16), Jodan Wright (14), Marcus Wynter (11), and Pietro Magni (13).

JCC also had several players fill up the box score outside of scoring. Wright pulled down 12 rebounds, Craig grabbed eight, and Foddai secured seven while adding six assists.

That win moved the Jayhawks to 9-4 on the season.

There was little time to celebrate, as Jamestown then boarded the vans for their date at Herkimer College on Sunday.

JCC led by ten at the break, up 39-29 with 20 minutes left to play, but couldn't hold on as they dropped a tough one 71-68.

Jamestown saw four Jayhawks hit double-figure scoring: Wright 22, Craig 15, Foddai 13, and again Magni brought it off the bench with 11.

Sophomore Marcus Wynter dished out nine assists, while Foddai brought down nine rebounds.

The three-point setback puts Jamestown at 9-5 on the year.

JCC is back home on Wednesday when they host Garrett College at 4:00 PM.
