Jayhawks Fight to the End but Can't Finish SUNY Niagara

SANBORN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's basketball team suffered another tough defeat at the hands of SUNY Niagara on Saturday, falling 82-69 on the road.

JCC jumped out to an early lead, going up 16-12 on a three from Keyvone Craig. The sophomore ended the day with 13 points.

Niagara fired back, taking a lead at 19-18, and we were set for a 40-minute battle.

Jamestown would fall behind by as much as six in the opening half before a defensive rebound and transition bucket from Jodan Wright, who led JCC with 18 points and ten rebounds, pulled the score to 36-33.

A Niagara free throw was the only other score in the first half, giving us a 37-33 JCC deficit going to the break.

Jamestown opened the second half on a 9-4 run to reclaim the lead off of a pair of free throws from Federico Foddai at 42-41. The advantage was short-lived as Niagara jumped back out front less than a minute later.

The game stayed close deep into the second half. A layup from Aidan Penchion, who scored 13, brought the road squad down just a point at 52-51, but the Jayhawks couldn't get over the hump from there.

JCC dropped the 13-point decision to now sit at 10-10 on the year, 0-4 in league action.

Jamestown is back home on Wednesday, February 11th, to finish league action with Monroe Community College in town for sophomore day at 7:30 PM.
