BUFFALO, NY - It was a much-needed league win for the Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's basketball team, as they knocked off Erie Community College (ECC) 113-85 on Saturday afternoon.

The Jayhawks scored the first three points of the game on a three from Federico Foddai (18 points) and never looked back.

JCC's lead quickly grew to 11 points at the 13:29 mark of the first half when Naeem Richardson grabbed an offensive rebound and secured the putback. The freshman led Jamestown with 26 points and added ten rebounds.

ECC would cut the deficit down to just four a few minutes later, but Jamestown always had an answer. This time it was back-to-back layups from Keyvone Craig and Richardson to drive the lead back to eight.

The Jayhawks took a 47-38 advantage to the break, thanks in large part to hot-shooting from deep, scoring on 43% of their threes in the first half.

Erie closed the gap to three early in the second half, but once again Richardson had an answer, banging home another three. The freshman was four for four from distance in the game.

Jamestown would dominate the second half, winning those 20 minutes 66-47 en route to victory. Much of the second-half scoring came from sophomore Marcus Wynter, who dropped 20, and freshman Aidan Penchion, who also scored 20.

The 28-point victory was not only the largest of the season for JCC but also gave the Jayhawks their first league win.

Jamestown now sits at 12-11 on the year, 1-5 in conference action.

Up next is a date with SUNY Niagara in the regional playoffs hosted by Monroe Community College on Saturday, February 28th at 3:00 PM.
