GLOVERSVILLE, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's soccer team let one slip away on Saturday as they fell 2-1 on the road to Fulton-Montgomery Community College (FMCC).
JCC snatched the early lead when Liam Doyle banged home a shot at the 26-minute mark to give the Jayhawks a 1-0 lead.
Jamestown had several chances to add to the lead before half, but it was FMCC who evened things up at 1-1 in the 41st minute, giving us a tie as they headed to the break.
The Jayhawks would feel their first deficit at the 66th minute mark, falling behind 2-1.
JCC had several chances in the final 24 minutes to square the game at 2-2 but couldn't find the back of the net.
Theo Merlin gave the Jayhawks that chance by making 11 saves on 13 shots, but it wasn't to be with the 2-1 final.
The loss knocks Jamestown down to 5-2 in Region 3 play.
JCC has over a week off before they visit Fredonia State University on Monday, September 29th, at 6:30 PM.
