Jayhawks Swoop in and Steal a Win at the Last Second

BRADFORD, PA - If once is a fluke, twice is a coincidence, and three times is a trend, then the Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's soccer team has made it a trend to beat the buzzer this season, the latest being a 3-2 win over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford on Sunday.

This game didn't start out like it was going to come down to a game-winner; JCC jumped out to an early 2-0 lead behind goals from Alfie Moynihan and Sam Hynes, both before the 15-minute mark.

That score held into the second half before the Panthers added a pair of their own to make it a 2-2 game.

It remained 2-2 until JCC broke loose with 10 seconds on the clock. The entire Jayhawks' 11 went on the run after they stole the ball from Pitt Bradford. It ended with Liam Doyle just outside the box, who found a streaking Jack Morris. From there, Morris blasted a point-blank shot past the goalie as the horn sounded. The buzzer-beating game-winner trickled beyond the line with less than one second on the clock to make it 3-2.

The win moves the Jayhawks to 8-5 on the season.

Jamestown returns to Region 3 play on Wednesday, October 8th, at 4:00 PM when they visit SUNY Broome.
