Jayhawks Dominate Lackawanna College in 38-12 Win

SCRANTON, Pa. - It was a dominant performance for the Jamestown Community College wrestling team, picking up four falls en route to a 38-12 win over Lackawanna College Sunday afternoon.

 

The Jayhawks (1-1) fell behind in the early going after the 125 pound bout as Cody Evan picked up the fall over Marcus Evans (Randolph, NY/Randolph HS), needing 2:18 to do so.

 

JCC quickly tied the match up in the 133 pound bout as Taige Jones (Bemus Point, NY/Maple Grove HS) continued his strong sophomore campaign, earning the fall over Kevin Bowne in the first period.

 

Trenton Donahue (DuBois, PA/DuBois Area HS) picked up yet another fall on the seasonin the 141 pound bout, making quick work of Trinity Costa. Donahue earned his win in 22 seconds.

 

Andrew Bungar (Hermitage, PA/Hickory HS) picked up his first collegiate win, earning the fall over Chris Lovallo. Bungar got the win in the second period of action.

 

Alex Christy (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia HS) bumped up a weight class, getting the fall over James Lawson in heavyweight action. Christy got the fall in the early going of the second period, needing a total of 3:16 to get the victory.

 

Other Jayhawks earning wins today via forfeits were 157 pounder Otto Davidson (Congers, NY/Clarkstown North), 174 pounder Ross Abram (Eden, NY/Eden Central), and 184 pounder Jesse Storch (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads HS).

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Wednesday, March 17th, as they take on Region 3 foe Niagara County Community College at home at 6 p.m.
