Jayhawks Take Part in Athletic Symposium on Sportsmanship

Four JCC student-athletes speaking in front of a crowd at Northwest Arena

JAMESTOWN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) athletic department was well represented at the Athletic Symposium on Sportsmanship held at Northwest Arena in downtown Jamestown on Friday. This is the sixteenth time the event has taken place; this year more than 250 student-athletes from 25 area high schools were in attendance. JCC was represented by four international students, including Adam Doyle, Federico Foddai, Roxanne Lothian, and Liam Doyle

"It was nice to talk to high schoolers about my experience in the US," said Italian Federico Foddai. "It was nice to share all of my experiences and what I did at home and how I arrived in the United States. It was wonderful to explain the concept of my life, like 'never give up.' I loved that they listened to me, and I hope they get my message," added Foddai.

Foddai is an all-region basketball player for JCC, while both Liam and Adam Doyle made all-conference in soccer, and Roxanne Lothian is the reigning regional swimmer of the year and an eight-time All-American for the JCC swimming and diving national championship team.
